Green Green Grass

Jun 06, 2023
By nature of being human, it’s so easy to give into playing the comparison game with others. People often look at other peoples lives, finances, marriages etc. and think the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence and they become tempted to jump the fence for greener grass. The grass-looks-greener mindset is tempting in every area of life, but let’s briefly focus in on marital relationships.

If you ever find yourself looking at someone else’s marriage and thinking  the grass sure does look greener in that relationship and if I had him/her as my spouse, I could have the same experience. So, I think I’ll jump the fence.

If you ever start thinking the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence and you’re tempted to jump over ask yourself these three questions.

1. Is the grass greener because someone has watered and tended to it?

2. Am I willing to invest the time, money and energy into my relationship to make the grass greener?

3. Is there a septic tank right under the surface of the green grass?

Green grass is a product of a lot of money, time and energy being put into it. Having a healthy and thriving relationship takes a lot of the same and it doesn’t happen just because you want it to.
Invest in your marriage and you will see the grass becomes green all around you.
