The danger of works righteousness lies in its flawed and weak foundation. It shifts the focus from a relationship with a loving God to a "let’s make a deal" God. Instead of receiving love and grace as a gift, they become something to be earned—a reward for good works. This creates a fragile and unstable system that raises two crucial questions with no clear answers:

• How many good works are enough?
• How perfectly must we obey the rules?

The answers are always unclear, leading to ever-moving goalposts. Works righteousness misrepresents the heart and character of God, painting a picture of a demanding, deal-making God rather than a loving, gift-giving, and merciful Father. It blinds countless hearts to the true nature of God's love and grace, which are freely given, not earned.
